This is a perfect role for a current Design or Product Engineer that is looking to move into a manufacturing engineer role in the future.  
Position Responsibilities: 
  • Balance the short-term urgency of production dates, with the discipline of long-term design effectiveness to include product and process improvements.  
  • Primary focus will be working with operations on the in-process, on the floor orders already moving through the shop.  
  • Able to respond quickly to any issues and troubleshoot them in a timely manner, to keep orders moving and ship out the door on time.  
  • Validate solutions on active orders to ensure safety and design intent is maintained and there are no delays in shipments.  
  • Work closely with Engineering after orders are shipped to identify root causes and corrective action for future orders.  
  • This person will be responsible for designing the solution for the issue.  The sustaining engineer, identifies the problem AND does the work to fix the problem.  
  • The work includes processing engineering changes to ensure accurate BOM standards, standard models, WIP orders, and Manage inventory if applicable.  
  • Work closely with NPD Engineering on product designs prior to launch.  All products must be designed for manufacturability on the shop floor.  
  • Focus on improving throughput through engineering and operations.
